Workshop Overview

An interactive, positive, and high-energy experience designed to teach dancers the foundational science of performance fueling. Through hands-on learning, dancers discover how to nourish their bodies for strength, energy, and athletic longevity.

For Dancers Ages 12 and Up

An advanced beginner track focused on empowering older dancers to take autonomy over their daily fueling, energy demands, and long-term health.

Dancers will experience interactive, evidence-based sports nutrition education covering:

  • Macronutrient Mastery: Learning to identify and understand the vital roles that Carbohydrates, Fats, and Proteins play in a dancer's endurance and muscle recovery.

  • Hands-On Fueling: Building a balanced day of eating using interactive food models to visualize optimal plate distributions.

  •  Mindful & Intentional Eating: Exploring mindful eating concepts to cultivate a positive, sustainable relationship with food.

  • Energy Needs & Planning: Understanding the unique metabolic and energy demands of dance training, and learning how to plan a personalized day of eating.

  • Clinical Health & Awareness: A vital introduction to recognizing and preventing disordered eating, alongside understanding Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) to protect long-term hormonal and bone health.

For Dancers Ages 7 to 11

A foundational, age-appropriate track designed to introduce younger dancers to the joy of fueling their movement through fun, tangible concepts.

Dancers will experience positive, interactive nutrition education covering:

  • Core Fuel Sources: An introduction to identifying basic food groups: Carbohydrates, Fats, and Proteins.

  • The "Why" Behind Food: Discovering the fun roles macronutrients play in giving them the energy to jump, turn, and stay strong.

  • Building a Balanced Snack: Using hands-on food models to learn how to mix and match ingredients for the perfect pre- or post-class snack boost.

  • Mindful Food Exploration: Encouraging positive, mindful eating concepts that celebrate listening to their bodies' natural cues.

Genevieve Sepulveda Carrasco, BA is the Founder and Educational Director of Your Healthy Dancer, bridging the gap between performance artistry and sports science to equip dancers for a lifetime of sustainable movement. Backed by 13 years of experience as a dance educator and a professional performance career spanning Los Angeles to New York City, her mission is driven by her own recovery from career-ending chronic pain.

Today, she leverages a CSULA Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Nutritional Science—where she is an incoming Master’s candidate on the path to becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)—alongside her credentials as a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach and Corrective Exercise Specialist. Having already trained over 400 elite dancers and athletes at institutions like the OCSA Ballet Conservatory and Vanguard University, Genevieve uses her evidence-based workshops to transform passionate artists into resilient, high-performing athletes.
